TECH SPECS:
Designed from the ground up for competitive shooters, the Smith & Wesson Performance Center® M&P9 M2.0 Competitor delivers premium performance, exceptional balance, and race-ready features straight from the factory. Built around a lightweight aluminum frame and a precision 5-inch stainless steel barrel, the Competitor is engineered to help shooters maximize speed, accuracy, and control on the range.
The M&P Competitor features aggressive slide lightening cuts along the top and sides of the optics-ready slide, reducing reciprocating mass and improving recoil balance for faster sight tracking and quicker follow-up shots. The optics-ready platform allows shooters to mount their preferred red dot sight, while the fiber-optic front sight and blacked-out serrated rear sight provide a crisp sight picture for traditional iron sight use.
A Performance Center enhanced sear and M2.0 flat-face trigger combine to provide a lighter, cleaner trigger break with a short, tactile reset. The result is improved consistency and greater confidence during rapid strings of fire. A flared magazine well and oversized reversible magazine release support faster reloads, helping shooters save valuable time during competition stages.
The aluminum frame maintains the proven M&P ergonomics, including the natural 18-degree grip angle, aggressive texturing, and four interchangeable palmswell inserts for a customized fit. Additional features include a Picatinny accessory rail, forward slide serrations, low bore axis for reduced muzzle rise, and Smith & Wesson's patented take-down system that allows disassembly without pulling the trigger.
Supplied with four 17-round magazines and finished in an attractive Tungsten Gray Cerakote®, the Performance Center M&P9 M2.0 Competitor is ready for USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, and serious range use right out of the box.

In contrast, a semi-automatic rifle is designed to automatically eject the spent casing and chamber a new round with each pull of the trigger. Semi-automatic rifles offer faster follow-up shots, while bolt-action rifles are typically more accurate due to their design.
