PRODUCT DETAILS

TECH SPECS:

The Springfield Armory Standard Issue M1A™ is a timelessly effective design, but sometimes circumstances call for something just a little bit shorter. The M1A Scout Squad rifle is 100% M1A, but with the 6-groove 1:11" twist carbon steel barrel trimmed back to 18". Featuring military aperture sights with 1-MOA adjustments and a rugged black composite stock, this compact rifle runs great on the hunt, from a vehicle, or around the farm.

18" Barrel

  • The 18" 1:11"-twist barrel was specifically designed to offer superb accuracy in a portable package.

Forward Scout-Style Picatinny Rail

  • A forward scout-style Picatinny rail accepts the kind of both-eyes-open long-eye-relief optics that maximize the performance of this platform.

2-Stage NM Tuned Trigger

  • The classic Springfield Armory match-grade two-stage trigger offers accuracy potential well beyond what you might expect from a CQB gun.

What is the difference between a bolt-action rifle and a semi-automatic rifle? Answers (1)

Proven Arms & Outfitters A bolt-action rifle requires the shooter to manually operate a bolt to load a round, eject the spent casing, and chamber the next round. In contrast, a semi-automatic rifle is designed to automatically eject the spent casing and chamber a new round with each pull of the trigger. Semi-automatic rifles offer faster follow-up shots, while bolt-action rifles are typically more accurate due to their design.
