The Springfield Armory® Kuna™ Tri-Lug combines a roller-delayed operating system with a fast, tool-free suppressor-mounting interface inspired by iconic HK® tri-lug heritage. Chambered in 9mm, the Kuna Tri-Lug provides a compact and highly maneuverable pistol-caliber platform with a monolithic aluminum upper receiver, fully ambidextrous controls, and an integrated Tri-Lug barrel.
The 6-inch cold radial hammer forged barrel features a Melonite® finish, 1:10 twist rate, and integrated Tri-Lug interface. The Tri-Lug system allows compatible suppressors and muzzle devices to be installed or removed quickly without tools using a simple push-and-twist connection, making transitions between configurations straightforward.
At the heart of the Kuna is its roller-delayed operating system, which uses a locking roller to delay bolt movement. This design allows for a lighter operating system while helping reduce perceived recoil and providing smooth cycling characteristics.
The Kuna's monolithic aluminum upper receiver is Type III hardcoat anodized for durability and incorporates an integral M-Lok® handguard. A Picatinny rail integrated into the receiver end plate provides an attachment point for compatible stabilizing braces or other accessories. The supplied configuration does not include a pistol brace.
The Kuna features fully ambidextrous controls, including the safety switch, while its reversible, non-reciprocating charging handle provides additional configuration flexibility. Hybrid flip-up sights, a flat aluminum trigger, an AR-pattern grip with Adaptive Grip Texture, and an integral trigger guard round out the platform's ergonomic features.
