TECH SPECS:

The SIG SAUER SIG516 G3 11.5" SBR brings the SIG516 platform's piston-driven design into a compact 5.56 NATO configuration. Featuring an 11.5-inch cold hammer-forged steel barrel, a short-stroke piston operating system, and fully ambidextrous controls, this rifle is engineered for durability and performance in a compact platform.

At the heart of the SIG516 G3 is a 3-position adjustable gas system designed to accommodate different operating conditions. The short-stroke piston action is paired with a free-floating M-LOK handguard and integrated M-LOK/Picatinny accessory interfaces, providing a modular platform for compatible accessories.

The 11.5-inch cold hammer-forged barrel features a 1:7 twist rate and a 1/2"-28 threaded muzzle with a tapered shoulder. A factory-installed SIG Flash Hider-Compensator completes the muzzle configuration. Steel-reinforced components in high-wear areas provide additional durability, while the Matchlite Duo curved trigger delivers a defined trigger interface.

The SIG516 G3 incorporates rear and side non-reciprocating charging handles, offering alternative charging-handle locations, along with fully ambidextrous controls. The rifle also features a 6-position Magpul DT stock, an AR-compatible reduced-angle grip, and a forward assist.

Finished in black anodizing, the SIG516 G3 has an overall length of 31.8 inches, a collapsed length of 28.5 inches, and a listed weight of 7.3 pounds with magazine. The rifle ships with one 30-round polymer magazine, as specified for this configuration.

Combining a short-stroke piston system, adjustable gas settings, cold hammer-forged barrel, M-LOK handguard, ambidextrous controls, and Matchlite Duo curved trigger, the SIG SAUER SIG516 G3 11.5" SBR provides a compact, feature-rich configuration for authorized ownership and use.

What is the difference between a bolt-action rifle and a semi-automatic rifle? Answers (1)

Proven Arms & Outfitters A bolt-action rifle requires the shooter to manually operate a bolt to load a round, eject the spent casing, and chamber the next round. In contrast, a semi-automatic rifle is designed to automatically eject the spent casing and chamber a new round with each pull of the trigger. Semi-automatic rifles offer faster follow-up shots, while bolt-action rifles are typically more accurate due to their design.
